Overcoming Fear: A Brave Ride
Learning to ride a bicycle gave me a taste for speed. The wind on my face was exhilarating. However, my curiosity led me to secretly try my mother’s electric scooter. Inexperienced, I lost control and crashed into a flower bed, leaving me too scared to ride again. The fear of powerlessness lingered.
One day, my parents couldn’t fetch my sister from school due to work commitments. They asked me to use the electric scooter instead. Standing there, anxiety overwhelmed me. What if I fell in front of everyone? Walking seemed like a safer option, but the scorching sun warned against it. Time ticked away, and with little choice left, I hopped onto the scooter.
Taking charge, I cautiously gained control and gradually accelerated. Though still unsteady, I managed to ride safely and brought my sister home just in time. This experience taught me that fear is often rooted in minor things, but courage can be a guiding light amidst darkness.
When we confront our fears with bravery, they lose their grip on us. It is through taking those bold steps that we find brightness illuminating our path forward.
